Croeso and welcome to Shotwick Lake Sailing

Shotwick Lake is situated on the Welsh, English border on the edge of the Dee estuary. We have members from North Wales, The Wirral, Chester and North West England. 

A family club we pride ourselves on our community and are an affiliated RYA Training Centre running sailing and windsurfing courses for both juniors and adults alike.

Series final results

Sunday saw the conclusion of both the Spring Series and the Spring Handicap Series. The day started as a wonderful sunny day, with 18 racers taking to the water. As the day progressed the weather became capricious and very blustery which soon turned the day into madness, according to Sara B, with Dave T coining the phrase Cirque de Simon, as Simon and Julie got caught in a mad squall while flying their spinnaker. Diary date - July 4th!

Following the great success of the fish/chips/quiz evening, the team have pulled out all the stops and have organised a race night on Friday 4th July - complete with another round of fish and chips of course. Twilight race 10

Wednesday 11th June 25. The 10th race of the Twilight Series was held on a lively evening. 10 finishers with 4 retirements told the story of the race. Series leader Jeremy, in his Lightning, ended up sandwiched between two Lasers and managed to retain his overall Series lead. Twilight - Conrad is back

Wednesday 4th June saw Conrad return to the front pipping Jeremy to the final line by 12 seconds (elapsed time)! This means that overall in the series, Jeremy is still in first place but now as Conrad very close behind in second with Simon and Julie third in their Miracle. The Dragon is coming

Diary date: Saturday 14th June 2025. The RYA Youth event, The Dragon Series, is coming to Shotwick Lake. Obviously our youth members can take part, but the event needs lots of volunteers to safely take place.
